Goodbye 2011

Well another year has gone by and what an unsettling year that was with tyrants coming to an end in their lives, wars, rioting on the streets, murders seemingly by the minute, the recession biting hard and suicides. It makes depressing reading.

However, I believe that when you hit rock bottom, the only way is up. Things will improve and it's up to everyone of us to ensure that it does so and to offer a helping hand to those who are struggling. If we all looked out for each other, how much lighter our burdens would be.

If any of you have made New Year resolutions, I hope you are able to keep to them and that your aims aren't too far beyond your reach. It's better to start off with small steps to try and improve your lives and by the end of the year you will look back and see how far you have actually come.

Anyone with any worries who just can't see the wood for the trees at the moment, please find the courage to confide in someone. It doesn't have to be a counsellor but perhaps a member of the family or a trusted friend. A problem shared is usually a problem halved and just exchanging thoughts and ideas can help you resolve a problem before it takes over your life.

Hope 2012 brings health, wealth and happiness to us all and for those facing adversity, the courage to fight for a better life for themselves.
